We accept most major credit or debit cards. These include - Visa, Visa Electron, Master Card, UK Maestro, Amex, ChinaUnionPay, JCB, Diners and Discover.

 

We also accept electronic payment by PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Please ensure you have sufficient funds in your account.

Once your order has been placed, we have a small window of time to make changes or cancellations before it is processed. If you need to amend your order, please email us immediately at indigochilduk1@gmail.com, including as many details as possible (e.g., order number, item details) to help us assist you quickly. While we’ll do our best, we cannot guarantee changes can be made once processing has started.

For returns, items can be sent back to us within 21 days of delivery, but we only offer exchanges or store credit—not cash refunds. Please note, custom orders are non-refundable as they're made just for you.

For standard UK and international shipping, your order will be dispatched within 1-3 days. Please note that dispatch can take a little longer on busy periods as we are currently a one person business, but we'll notify you via email as soon as your order is on the move.

We aim to dispatch next day delivery orders on the same day, but it is not 100% guaranteed and we cannot be held accountable for late deliveries that are outside of our control. Orders must be placed before 2pm GMT.

Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number and the selected courier information. Please be aware that it can take up to 2 working days for your tracking to update if you ordered standard delivery.

Since we’re a small, one-person business, customs and taxes are not included in our shipping costs. These charges are the customer’s responsibility. We recommend checking with your local postal service to understand if customs or taxes apply to your order.

If you notice an issue with your shipping address, contact us at indigochilduk1@gmail.com immediately. We can update your address before your order ships, but once it has been dispatched, we will be unable to make changes or be liable for orders shipped to incorrect addresses.

If the package is returned to us, we’ll notify you and arrange to reship it. Be sure to monitor your tracking information for updates.

If your tracking shows that your package has been delivered but you haven’t received it, here’s what to do:

  1. Check if the package was left with a neighbour or in a safe spot near your address.

  2. Review the tracking information for any additional updates or delivery instructions.

If you’ve received a faulty item, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience!

 

Please email us at indigochilduk1@gmail.com within 5 days of delivery. Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and a few clear photos of the faulty item.

We’ll work quickly to resolve this for you—typically by issuing store credit or, in rare cases, replacing the item if a replacement is available (as many of our items are one-of-a-kind).

Returns

You can return an item for an exchange or store credit. Your return must be initiated within 21 days of the shipping date. If 21 days have gone by since the delivery of your order, we unfortunately cannot accept it outside of this return window.
 
Before you return your items, please make sure that they're returned in their original condition—unworn, unwashed, with all tags attached, and in their original packaging where applicable (unless faulty).

Please include your order number, the reason for your return, and any necessary images (for damaged or incorrect items). Once you’ve contacted us to initiate your return, we will provide you with the return address. Please note that our business operates from a residential address, and we share this information upon request for privacy and security reasons.​

  • Hygienic items: This includes headbands, earrings, scrunchies, and similar accessories.

  • Sale items: All discounted items are final sale.

As a small, one-person business, we don’t currently provide pre-paid return labels. If you’d like to return an item, we recommend visiting your local courier to arrange shipping and inquire about the costs directly with them.

Once we receive your return, please allow up to 7 working days for our team to process it. While we aim to handle returns as quickly as possible, occasional delays may occur during busy periods. After processing, a store credit coupon code will be sent to your email. These codes never expire, so you can use them at your convenience. Please note that outbound shipping costs are not included in your store credit.

All of our pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind, so if an item is sold out, it’s unlikely to be restocked. However, we do accept custom orders for products we’ve sold in the past, just check out our custom items page!

If there’s a specific item you’re interested in, feel free to reach out to us at indigochilduk1@gmail.com. Please note that custom orders take approximately 1–2 weeks for smaller items and 1–4 weeks for larger items, depending on how busy our store is at the time.

At Indigo Child, we take responsibility for minimising the environmental impact of our garments—it’s a commitment we proudly uphold. While our pieces are thoughtfully designed and crafted to last, there are simple steps you can take to further extend their lifespan, care for them in an eco-friendly way, and make mindful decisions when it’s time to part with them.

Wash Less: Spot clean whenever possible to extend the life of your garment, and always wait until you have a full load before washing. Over-washing can cause wear and tear over time, so try wearing your items one more time to help preserve their fibres and colours.

Wash Cold: To keep your Indigo Child pieces looking their best, we recommend hand washing them with cold or lukewarm water for the gentlest care. If you prefer machine washing, use a delicate cycle at 30°C or below. Avoid tumble drying, as our pieces are air dry only to preserve their shape and texture.

Use Eco Friendly Detergent: Consider switching to an eco-friendly detergent—traditional detergents and softeners often contain microplastics and harmful toxins that can impact the environment, irritate your skin, and damage your clothes over time. For stains, apply an eco-friendly stain remover directly to the affected area and let it sit for a few hours before washing.

 

Spot Clean Only Products: Our furnished pieces and jewellery are spot clean only to maintain their unique finishes.  To spot clean, damp a cloth with cold or warm water and pat the area. Gently squeeze the water without rubbing. Lay it on a flat surface to dry.

Pilling: Pilling occurs as loose fibres form small balls due to friction, and it’s a completely natural process. Many of our handmade clothing and homeware pieces are crafted using acrylic or cotton yarn, which is durable and soft but tends to pill over time with regular use. For easy maintenance, we recommend using a lint remover or fabric comb to gently remove any pills and keep your pieces looking fresh.

Donate or Sell On: We hope your Indigo Child piece remains a cherished part of your wardrobe for years to come. However, if the time comes to part with it, consider donating or selling it so someone else can continue to love and enjoy it as much as you did.

Reuse the Yarn: If you’re ready to part with your Indigo Child item, why not repurpose the yarn? Our items can be unraveled and used to crochet or knit something new—perfect for those who already craft or want to start learning using one of our patterns. Alternatively, the yarn can be a fun addition to creative projects and crafts to spark your imagination!

​Recycle: If your well-loved piece has reached the end of its journey, find your nearest recycling point or textile bank. They’ll process clean and dry clothing and textiles responsibly, often for free.

All our pieces are handmade in the UK, with the majority of products crafted by me, Sarah. For smaller items like accessories and homeware, my partner Jaiden occasionally lends a hand. We take pride in being transparent about who makes our products and how they are made, a value that sets us apart from fast fashion companies. Unlike large industries that often hide their practices, we make sure to pay our team a fair and liveable wage. By making everything ourselves, we avoid shipping and long-distance logistics, reducing petrol use and minimising our environmental impact.

Yes, we accept custom orders! We have a dedicated page just for custom items where you can explore all the options. Smaller items typically take 1–2 weeks to make, while larger items can take 1–4 weeks depending on our workload. You can customise your piece in any colour you like and choose from various styles. To help you decide, we also provide a colour chart showcasing all the shades we offer.
